Long Elk at Little Bighorn, Jack Wooldridge

Long Elk at Little Bighorn
Jack Wooldridge

This painting is the first of a series commemorating Native Americans who died in the battle of Little Bighorn. It was the First Prize Winner in the 1997 Citizen Potawatomi Art Competition.

Jack says of this painting:
Like most of my works, no attempt is made to depict realistically the person or place, rather, I attempt to express the mood and essence of my subject.
