(Note: In the Exec order, Bland Ballard was named as "Sergeant" not "Surgeon"; also, why the Pulliam children are "Children" of Bland Ballard requires some explanation. I think that this is the Bland Ballard that was massacred at Fort Tyler in 1787 along with his second wife, daughter from his first marriage and some small children. Sally could have been a daughter and sister of Bland W. and James, who married, first, Pulliam and had children, Benjamin and Ballard Pulliam, then married second, Jones. Or, all of these "children" could be grandchildren and children of Bland W., James, and a sister who married ____ Pulliam and had three children, Benjamin, Ballard and Sally (who married Jones) Pulliam.)
