                      JESSE SISSOM AND CATHERINE (KATY) PARKER


              Tennessee (Tennie) Cawthorn, the daughter of  Elizabeth  Jane
         Sissom  and John A.  Cawthorn was born -?-, lived near Dodge City,
         Kansas.  Her brother, Walter,  went  out  to  work  with  Tennie's
         husband on building the railroad.  One Saturday night, Walter went
         to town (Dodge City) and they never  saw  or  heard  tell  of  him
         again.  Tennessee and her husband returned to Ash Grove, Missouri,
         where she died young.  Elizabeth Jane Cawthorn grieved  and  lived
         with  the  hope that her son wasn't dead, but they never found out
         what happened to him.

              John Cawthorn, the son of Elizabeth Jane Sissom and  John  A.
         Cawthorn was born -?-, lived in Chanute, Kansas.

              Walter Cawthorn, the son of Elizabeth Jane Sissom and John A.
         Cawthorn  was born -?-, lived in Chanute, Kansas.  This is the one
         who  disappeared   in   Dodge   City   under   rather   mysterious
         circumstances.

              Leon Cawthorn, or Lonnie Cawthorn, as he was known,  the  son
         of Elizabeth Jane Sissom and John A.  Cawthorn was born -?-, lived
         in Chanute, Kansas.   John  and  Lonnie  both  lived  in  Chanute,
         Kansas, and worked for the Portland Cement Company for many years.

              Thelma Lorraine Grenia was born ca.  1923, divorced.

              Henry Casper (Cap) Sissom died February, 1968, in the  Kansas
         prison, and is buried at Welchata, Kansas.

              Norman Leo Sissom, the first child of Henry Casper Sissom and
         Thelma Grenia was born ca.  1941, married (1) Peggy -?-, (2) Londa
         Wolfinbarger, (3) Roberta -?-, (father = Baldy)

              William M. Sissom, the child of Jesse Sissom and 
         Charity  Skelton,  was  born  June  2,  1818,  in  Jackson County,
         Alabama, married Rebecca Jane  Ogle,  December  5,  1845,  in  St.
         Clair  County,  Illinois, is found in the 1850 and 1860 St.  Clair
         County, Illinois,  census  records.   There  are  no  extant  1820
         records  to  be  found  that  will  help  us with him.  William M.
         Sissom died January 14, 1870, in Wilson County,  Kansas,  and  was
         buried at Whiteside Cemetery, south east of New Albany, Kansas.  I
         would suggest reviewing the mortality schedule for that  time  and
         place.

              William M.  Sissom lived in Tennessee,  Illinois  and  Kansas
         after  leaving  Alabama.   William M.  Sissom was a soldier in the
         Union Army during the Civil War.  I  am  told  that  when  William
         died,  Rebecca  Jane Ogle Sissom married L.D.  Gardner, October 5,
         1873, officiated at by William Bable.

              Mary Isabell Sissom, the fourth child of William  M.   Sissom
         and  Rebecca  Jane Ogle was born February 4, 1855, married William
         Gardner, August 17, 1873, died  February  2,  1876.   Mary  Isabel
         (Sissom) Gardner is buried in Weakly Cemetery, New Albany, Kansas.


         6.4.5  Jacob Ogle Sissom

              Jacob (Jake) Ogle Sissom,  the  fifth  child  of  William  M.
         Sissom  and  Rebecca  Jane  Ogle was born October 25, 1857, at St.
         Clair County, Illinois, married Jane Aull, November 11,  1884,  in
         St.   Clair  County,  Illinois,  died  November  29,  1918, at New
         Albany, Kansas.  Jacob and Jane had eight  children.   Both  Jacob
         Ogle  Sissom and Jane (Aull) Sissom are buried at Weakly Cemetery,
         New Albany, Kansas.

              Jane Aull, the daughter  of  Fredrick  Aul,  Jr.   and  Sarah
         Glenn,  was  born  -?-, and died February 12, 1943, at New Albany,
         Kansas.  Fredrick Aul, Sr., came to America from Germany and said,
         "If  I  live  in America, I spell my name American", so he changed
         his name from Aul to Aull according to  some  of  the  family.   I
         found  a  record of Naturalization for Friedrich Aul, number 3114,
         September,   1842,   in   the   St.    Clair   County,   Illinois,
         Naturalization  Index  for  the  years  1816  to 1905.  He is also
         mentioned in the 1881 History of St.  Clair.

                    WILLIAM SISSOM AND CHARITY SKELTON


              Lester Sissom, the first son of Kent Adolphus Sissom and Katy
         Shandrow,  was  born June 3, 1911, married Kathalene Chisham, born
         October 15, 1910, lives at Severy, Kansas.  Children are:

              Opal Irene Sissom, the  first  child  of  Lester  Sissom  and
         Kathalene Chisham was born February 26, 1941, married -?- Yancey.

              Linda Louise Sissom, the second child of  Lester  Sissom  and
         Kathalene  Chisham  was  born  December  21,  1944, married Claude

              Mary Sissom, the daughter of Kent Adolphus  Sissom  and  Katy
         Shandrow, was born August 7, 1917, is not married.

              Kent Eugene Sissom, the son of Kent Adolphus Sissom and  Katy
         Shandrow, was born April 21, 1920, married Goldie Lu Delaney, July
         26, 1949, at Fredonia, Kansas.  Goldie Lu Delaney  was  born  July
         18,  1931.  Children are:  Sheryl Kay Sissom, born March 26, 1953,
         at Wichita, Kansas, married -?- Hanslik; Randy  Lee  Sissom,  born
         October  7,  1958,  Lorie  May  Sissom,  born October 26, 1964, at
         Fredonia, Kansas, married -?-  Smith.   Kent  is  retired,  enjoys
         quilting and gardening.

              Kenneth Marion Sissom, the son of Kent  Adolphus  Sissom  and
         Katy  Shandrow,  was  born  April  25,  1923,  married Ramona Faye
         Bessette and had one son,  Kenneth  Ray  Sissom.   Kenneth  Marion
         Sissom  married  (2)  Yvonne Eslinger.  Kenneth Marion Sissom died
         July 16, 1986, at Merriam, Kansas, of Cancer.  Yvonne Sissom still
         lives at 4800 Delmar, Roeland Park, Kansas, 66205.

              Kenneth Ray Sissom, the only child of Kenneth  Marion  Sissom
         and  Ramona  Faye  Bessette  was  born August 1, 1955, at Wichita,
         Kansas, married Cathryn S.  Rumple on May 22,  1982,  at  Lenexon,
         Kansas,  and  had Kyle Austin Sissom, born June 14, 1984.  Kenneth
         Ray Sissom  is  a  Police  Captain  at  Merriam,  Kansas,  and  is
         interested in motorcycles and firearms.

              Keith Leroy Sissom, the son of Kent Adolphus Sissom and  Katy
         Shandrow,  was  born  April  25,  1923,  is  not married, lives in
         Rawlings, Wyoming.  Kenneth and Keith are twins.

              Cora Agnes Sissom, the second child of Jacob Ogle Sissom  and
         Jane  Aull  was  born July 18, 1888, married Chauncey DePew Evans,
         January 1912, and had  Minnie  Evans,  Thomas  Evans,  and  Daniel
         Evans.   Chauncey  Evans  died  October 24, 1948.  Cora Evans died
         June 13, 1971.  Both are buried at Highland Park Cemetery,  Kansas
         City, Kansas.

              Minnie Lee Evans, the first child of Cora  Agnes  Sissom  and
         Chauncy  D.   Evans  was  born  October 27, 1912, in Grain Valley,
         Missouri, married Cara Lee Hataway, November 28, 1928, in  Olathe,
         Kansas, made their home in Leawood, Johnson County, Kansas.

              Cara Lee Hataway, the child of Lee Monroe Hataway and  Jessie
         -?-  was born December 18, 1907.  Lee Monroe Hataway was from Winn
         Parish, Louisiana and Jessie Hataway was from Alabama.   Cara  Lee
         Hataway died December 23, 1989.

              James Daniel Hataway, the child of Minnie Lee Evans and  Cara
         Lee  Hataway  was  born  February 7, 1930, in Kansas City, Kansas,
         married Victoria Anderson, January 4, 1951.

              Cara Lee Hataway, the child of Minnie Lee Evans and Cara  Lee
         Hataway was born January 27, 1933, in Kansas City, Kansas, married
         Marilyn Holt, February 14, 1954.

              Thomas Jacob Evans, the second child of Cora Agnes Sissom and
         Chauncy  D.   Evans  was  born December 31, 1916, at Grain Valley,
         Jackson County, Missouri, married Velma Pauline  Hedger,  February
         21, 1947.  They had no children, are retired and live in Arkansas.

              Daniel A.  Evans the third child of  Cora  Agnes  Sissom  and
         Chauncy  D.   Evans  was  born  February  6,  1920, married Margie
         Warner, May 26, 1946, and had two children.  They live  in  Kansas
         City, Kansas.

         6.4.5.4.1  Esther Pauline Sissom -

              Esther Pauline Sissom, the child of Jacob Benjamin Sissom and
         Mary  Maple  married  Milan  Ward  Lambertson, June 16, 1946, have
         three children and live at Lakin, Kansas.

              Dorcas Lambertson, the first child of Esther  Pauline  Sissom
         and Milan Ward Lambertson, was born March 12, 1948, married Walter
         O.  Lewis, November 27, 1969, and had  Matthew  Seth  Lewis,  born
         July 19, 1976.

              Walter McKinley Sissom, the sixth child of Jacob Ogle  Sissom
         and  Jane  Aull  was  born  January  7, 1899, married Lizzie Viola
         Petty, February 28, 1920, had two children.   Lizzie  Sissom  died
         September  30,  1959.   After  her  death  he married Ionia Gordon
         Molzen, a widow, February 18, 1961.  Walter  and  Lizzie  had  two
         children.  Walter Sissom died May 26, 1981, in Newton, Kansas, was
         buried at Weakly cemetery.
