France aboard the ship Far West and arrived in New York harbor on 23 Oct
1854. After he arrived in New York he enlisted in the U.S. Army on 12 Dec
1854 for a period of 5 years and was assigned to Company H, 2nd US

Charles was married by the Rev. Charles Stuckman on 8 Aug 1860 to Mrs.

3. George W. Spenner b. 2o Mar 1873 Dickinson co., KS

Annie had three children from her previous marriage: Charles, Reinholdt,
and Sallie Rosea.

When the Civil War broke out, Charles once again served his new homeland
enlisting at Fort Riley, KS on 1 Feb 1862 and was assigned to Co F, 6th
Kansas Cavalry. He was wounded slightly in a battle near Fort Gibson,
Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory and was honorably discharged at
Clarksville, Arkansas on 1 Feb 1865. He was granted a pension for his
service.

In 1895 he moved to Woods co, Oklahoma. Annie died there in Feb 1896.
