The efforts of the Miami County Genealogy Society in producing Cemeteries of Miami County, Kansas, and the Miami County Historical Society in producing Family Histories and Stories of Miami County, Kansas, were greatly appreciated. Without these two references much of what follows could not have been easily located nor would I have had a way to check and compare other sources of information. The Miami County Genealogy Society assisted in researching several topics. The microfilm records, Mikrofilme Aufgenommen von Manuskripten im Diozesanarchiv Limburg, Katholische Kirche Oberselters, of the Catholic Church archives for the Diocese of Limburg, Germany, and Mikrofilme Aufgenommen von Manuskripten im Diozesanarchiv Mainz, Katholische Kirche Lorch (Rheingaukrers) Kirchenbuch, 1606-1899, of the Catholic Church archives for the Diocese of Mainz, Germany, seen in the library of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City, provided information about the family's earlier history in Germany.
My thanks goes to Lynn Nelson of the Department of History, The University of Kansas for providing a place to put these records on the internet and Steve Chinn for helping to put these records on the Kansas Hertiage Server.
