THE VOHS BROTHERS MOVE TO AMERICA

As with many of the early pioneers of Miami County, Kansas, the Vohs brothers came to the United States from Oberselters in the Dukedom of Nassau (which was absorbed into the Kingdom of Prussia in 1866). In the 1850's and 1860's the Vohs brothers (Anthony, Joseph, Jacob, Peter and Eugene) immigrated to the United States. They spent their first years in Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois and Missouri, before gathering together at Wea, Kansas.
