Zimmerman's Kill Creek Farm - Maintaining the Rural Heritage of Johnson County 9210 Kill Creek Road, De Soto, KS 66018 (913) 585-1904 or 583-1811 located on the northwest corner of the K-10 and Kill Creek Road interchange, 15 minutes west of Quiviria and I-435. The public comes to this active and educational farm to see where milk and eggs come from, how bees make honey, and what farm life is (and was) like. The annual Harvest Festival is held weekends in October, when pumpkins are ripe. Then, plus barns, farm animals, and lots of straw, various artists and craftsmen demonstrate and display their work in pioneer crafts and life. Midweek educational tours of the farm can be arranged, with presentations on farming, local history, cow milking, beekeeping, and other fun topics for various age groups. Try your hand at milking a dairy cow!
