James Adams
James Adams of Sun City, Kansas, and Annie Kaminska of Capron, Oklahoma,
were united in marriage October 11, 1911. Jim was born in El Reno, Oklahoma.
He lived most of his live in Sun City. His father was filled by a train when
James was two years of age. They came to Sun City to be near some of the
Adams family. Annie, daughter of August and Augusta Kaminska, was born in
Danzig, Gree State, German dominated. She with her parents, two sisters, and
a brother came to America when Annie was only a baby.
To the union were born seven children: (Bustar) Duard, Maxine (Adams)
Pearson, Aline (Adams) Davis, Henry, Jack, Geraldine (Adams) Harrison, Kathleen
(Adams) Maricle.
Annie died in 1940, Jim in 1963, Henry in 1974, and Buster in 1977. Maxine
Pearson and Geraldine Harrison live in Sun City. Aline Davis and Kathleen Maricle
live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jack lives in Wichita, Buster's family are in Hardin,
Montana. Henry's family live in Gulf Port, Mississippi.
Grandma Minerva Adams, called "Nerve', and Grandad William Adams came to
this country from Kentucky in the early days. Minerva was a Puckett by birth.
Great grandfather Johnson Adams was a pioneer Baptist preacher. He and several
of my uncles are buried in the cemetery on the hill north of Sun City along
with others. Some had been scalped by Indians, and some killed by a tornado.
Our heritage was a good one on both sides of the family. The little city of
Sun City still exists. Farming, ranching, and the gypsum mines are the industries.
There are two churches, the Baptist and Pentecostal Holiness. I am glad to live
here.
I married Claude Pearson of Cullison, Kansas, in March, 1935. He died in
November 1974.
