Lewis was born December 15, 1900, to Lewis J. and Ella Belle Ligon Balding in
  Barber County, about 5 miles east of Medicine Lodge. He attended Walstead School
  and Barber County High School.
     Mildred Banche was born January 9. 1910, to Jay and Iva Axtell Warren; north
  of Medicine Lodge on the Warren place, in the Amber district, where Mildred 
  attended school and then Barber County High School. She was the first child to
  bless this happy marriage.
     Lewis and Mildred were married January 7, 1926 at Medicine Lodge. They made
  their home on the Balding place, where Lewis was born, and they still live there.
     To this union was born five girls and one boy. Betty, (married Larry Fleming
  now deceased, they had one son Larry Ralph (married Debbie Hudson), and a
  daughter, Debbie Dawn; Dorothy (married R.C. Phillips), they have a daughter
  Cynthia Sue (married Henry Wood), daughter Sherri Lynn, and a son Ralph Charles);
  Barbara, (married Terry Neal, and their children are Linda Lou (married David 
  Masters), Mike Allen, and Lisa Marie); Jane, (married Norman Mills, and they have
  two sons Jeffery Lewis and David Allen); Jo works in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;
  Lewis Ervin, married Dianne Fliginger, and they have a son Steven Lewis and a 
  daughter Julie Marie.
