Timothy Andrew Chance
Timothy Andrew was born January 30, 1955, at Hardtner, Kansas, with Dr. H.Y.
Yasuda in attendance. The fourth child and third son of E.P. Bill and Virginia
Chance.
Timmy attended all of his school years in Medicine Lodge and graduated in
1973. After his graduation he attended Junior College at Dodge City Community
College at Dodge City, Kansas. Upon graduation from Dodge he attended one
semester at Manhatten.
Tim was quite active in sports all through school, but especially football
in high school.
The Roping Club played a very important part in his life. Square dancing
on horseback, showdeos, and the Little Britches Rodeo were quite time consuming.
The summers were quite hectic with Little League baseball, swimming and diving
lessons, and all the activities at the roping grounds. Tim and his borthers and
sister were kept busy with their horses, learning to saddle and bridle them,
taking care of them, catching them to go to the club as least 2 or three times
a week.
During the summer months of high school, Tim worked at the locker in Kiowa
as a butcher and as a welder at Hardtner for Boor Mfg. where they made trailers
of all kins, including a horse trailer that was shown at the fair.
After graduation from high school, he worked in the oilfield as a roughneck
in the summer time and went to school in the fall. Tim is now a daylight driller
in the oilfield and lives at home.
