Dennis Combrink

My parents are David and Wilma Combrink. They were born at Hazelton, Kansas. I
was born when my parents lived on a farm four miles south and four miles east of
  Hazelton, Kansas, August 26, 1947.
In December, 1949, we moved to my Grandparents Combrink's farm, 2 miles south
and one mile west of Hazelton.
I attended the Kowa Schools and graduated in 1965. I was active in 4H and won
the Danforth Award, Who's Who Key Award, and was the State Wheat Champion in 1964.
I enjoyed music in hgih school and earned 10 gold medals in voice and trumpet solos
at State Music Festivals. I also enjoyed basketball and tennis while in high school.
In the summer I played Babe Ruth baseball and was on the team that won the State
Tournament in 1963. I attended K-State University at Manhattan, Kansas, and graduated
in 1970, majoring in Business Administration.
Jeanne Ann Brattin, daughter of Charley and Lois Brattin of Kiowa, and I were
married in August, 1968. Jeanne Ann also attended the Kiowa Schools, graduating in
1966. She attended K-State at Manhattan 2 1/2 years. In high school she was Home-
coming Queen, won Danforth Award, National Honor Society 1965, cheerleader four years
  and Valedictorian in 1966.
We have four children. Gina is 9, born in Manhattan; Michael is 8, born at
Lawrence, Kansas; Robin is4, born at San Marcos, Texas; and Joy Diann, 19 months also
born while at San Marcos, Texas.
We have been associated with Campus Crusade for Christ since 1969. We now live at
San Marcos, Texas, and I am the Campus Director for Campus Crusade for Christ at
Southwest Texas State College, which is Ex-President Lyndon Johnson's Alma Mater.
Our life's objective is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and to train others
to do the same until the whole world ahs heard and had an opportunity to accept or
reject it. To accomplish this, we have spoken to a variety of groups like fraternities,
soroities, Student Government, various student organizations, classroom lecturing as
well as one-to-one communication. The privilege of seeing the change that takes place
after they accept Christ gives us increased motivation that Christ is the hope for the
  world.
We have endeavored to raise our children to love Christ and to grow up in every
aspect that will enable them to communicate that love to others.
