Alexander S.P. Draper


     Alexander Sanderson Porter Draper and Harriet Abigale Skinner were married
  October 15, 1850, in Vermillion County, Illinois. He served three years in 
  the Civil War with the 10th Regiment, Iowa Infantry.
     William Henry Draper, born December 4, 1858, was their son. He married
  Jemima Ann Ross October 22, 1878. Their son, Lewis Alexander Draper, was
  born September 22, 1883, in Parkville, Missouri.
     The Lewis Alexander Draper family moved to Oklahoma Territory in 1890 by
  covered wagon.
     Ada Mabel Lawry, sixth daughter of Daniel and Carolyn Lawry, and Lewis 
  Alexander Draper were married June 9, 1902, in the home of Rev. J.C. Shamberger
  with Rev. Shamberger officiating. His home was two miles north of the Mingona
  Schoolhouse in Barber County, Kansas. They immediately went to a ranch 9 miles
  south of Aetna, Kansas, in Woods County, Oklahoma, living in the same house
  with Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Draper, where father and son were partners 
  in ranching.
     In 1907 both families moved to the Laylor Nichols Ranch in Barber County,
  five miles southwest of Lake City. Alexander Sanderson Porter and wife,
  Harried Abigale Draper, moved with them, three generations were living on the
  same ranch. Harriet Abigale passed away here April 7, 1907, and is buried in
  Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
     In 1909 Alexander Porter Draper, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Henry Draper, Mr. and 
  Mrs. Lewis Draper and children Evelyn Nancy, Jemima Leona, and Norman Lewis
  moved to Lake City, where Lewis Draper owned and operated a livery barn,
  bought from Tom Sallee in 1909.
     From family records the children of Lewis Andrew and Ada Mable Draper;
  Nancy Evelyn Draper, born May 14, 1903, in Woods County, Oklahoma, and William
  Cloud Mills, born Sept. 10, 1897, were married December 24, 1927, in the Alva,
  Oklahoma, Christian Church, Wm. Cloud Jr., their only child was born June 13, 
  1938, in Medicine Lodge. He married Carolyn Hamilton.
     Jemima Leona Draper, born December 14, 1905, in Woods County, Oklahoma,
  and Tempel H. Mills, born Marcy 9, 1902, on his father's ranch (the late
  Govan Mills) were married April 9. 1924, by Rev. H.T. Purcel in the Pratt
  County Court House.
     Norman Huston Draper, born November 4, 1907, on the Taylor Ranch, died
  August 7, 1968, in Veteran's Hospital, Wichita. He served with the 534th
  Anti-Aircraft Artillery, rating Sargeant.
    Alexander Sanderson, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Draper are
  buried in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge. Norman H. Draper is buried in
  Lake City, Cemetery. W.H. Draper had a Masonic Burial; Mrs. W.H. Draper and
  Mrs. Lew Draper had Eastern Star Burials.
     All the aforesaid ancestors were farmers, ranchers, and stockmen.
