Buford Emmele and Nelda McGee were married March 23, 1941 at the home of
  her parents Mr. and Mrs. Worley C. McGee.
     Buford has been the Kiowa postmaster for 34 years. He retired Feb. 23,
  1979. buford was born in Hazelton, son of Mr. and Mrs. S.G. Emmele and
  graduated from the Hazelton High School. He attended Wichita University
  after graduation, sold insurance for a time, worked for Boeing and served
  in the Army during WWII, before being selected as postmaster.
     Buford and Nelda have four children: Gayla Whistler of Emporia, Linda
  Wheelock of Medicine Lodge, Kent of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Bruce who lives
  at home.
