Randy Fritz
On Easter Sunday 1979, Randy and Melva Fritz celebrated their First Wedding
Anniversary!
Melva, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Peters of Waynoka, Oklahoma, grew
up in Waynoka, graduating from Waynoka High School in 1973. She graduated
from Northwestern Oklahoma University at Alva, Oklahoma, and St. Mary's School
of Medical Technology, Enid, Oklahoma, MT (ASCP). She is a Medical Technologist
at the Medicine Lodge Hospital.
Randy, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Fritz, was born in Topeka, spent his
early childhood years on the CK Ranch, Brookville, where his father was the
CK Ranch Manager, and then moved to Medicine Lodge with his parents when he
was 12 years old. He graduated from Medicine Lodge High School in 1973, and
attended Kansas State University, Manhattan, two years before becoming
associated in ranching and breeding registered Hereford cattle.
During his ten years in 4-H, Randy's main interest was beef. He exhibited
and showed beef cattle at county, state, and national shows. He had several
county champions, a Kansas State Fair champion, class winners at the National
Western Stock Show, and was a top Hereford Showman at the Kansas State Fair
and the Denver Stock Show. He was also a State Farmer in FFA.
He is currently the Secretary-Treasurer of the Barber County Hereford
Association and a Director of the Barber County Cattlemen's Association.
