David Hada


     Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hada of Kisvarda, Hungary, and their four children
  emigrated to the United States and settled near the small community of
  Medicine Lodge, Kansas. Their youngest son, Fred, was born there. They
  then moved to Woods County, Oklahoma, about 15 miles southwest of Hardtner.
  In the spring of 1957, Fred's son, David, and his family moved to Hardtner
  where he was employed at the Farmer's State Bank.
     David and the former Thelma Rader were married in Medicine Lodge in 1944;
  and soon afterwards, David enlisted in the Navy, where he spent close to two
  years. After the war, he helped his dad on the farm. In 1949, they moved to
  Alva, Okal., where David worked for the Curtis Candy Co., as a salesman.
  After the children were all in school, Thelma worked part time for the Dooley
  Oil Co. in Alva.
     They had three daughters, Jerrianne, Kathy, and Dottie. Dottie being a
  native Kansas, as she was born in Hardtner. All three girls graduated from
  Hardtner High School. Thelma worked a while for Wades Gro., and part time at
  the United Methodist Church for several years.
     Both David and Thelma are active in the community. They are both members
  of the United Methodist Church. David is a member of the American Legion, City
  Treasurer, Twonship clerk, and a member of the Library Board. Thelma works at
  the Me-Too day care center in Alva and has an Art Studio in Hardtner and 
  teaches art to children and adults. Both David and Thelma play golf, and David
  bowls on the Bank bowling team.
     Jerrianne is now living in Cleveland, Okla. where she is the high school
  librarian. She graduated from Northwestern State College at Alva and got her
  Masters in Library Science in emporia, Kans. She was Librarian at Oakley,
  Kansas, for two years, at Dodge City for three years, and was in Germany for
  two years, where she got to travel extensively.
     Kathy is living in Downey, California, where she has made her home since
  graduating from high school. She is married to a native Californian, David
  Ethington. He owns and operated a metalizing business. They have two sons,
  Douglas, who is four, and Dean, two.
     Dottie graduated from Northwestern College at Alva and majored in Elementary
  education. She married Scott Gray in 1969. Scott is also from Hardtner. He
  graduated from Northwestern College in Alva, and after spending a short time
  in the Navy, he atended Washburn Law School in Topeka. They now live in Parsons,
  Kansas, where Scott is Labette Co. Attorney. Dottie does substitute teaching.
  They have three children, Travis, 7 years; Kevin, 4 years; and Amanda, one year.
