Gene Hart

E.W. "Gene" Hart was born in Kingman County, Kansas in 1902. I finished
high school at Kingman, Kansas, and went to college at Kansas University,
Lawrence, Kansas. I coached a few years, then went into sales as a traveling
salesman for John Deere Plow Co.
Anna Schupbach and I were married June 6, 1931. In 1932 I joined the
Schupbach Implement Company, later buying a quarter interest in the business.
My wife already owned a quarter interest. We, together with my wife's father,
John Schupbach operated the business until we sold to Laurence and Harry
     Schupbach.
Our daughter, Gene Ann, was born in 1933. In December 1952, she married
Robert W. Kline; at this time he is a Colonel in the United States Air
     Force, 1979.
We have two grandchildren, Robin Ann and Jeffrey Eugene, and two great
grandsons, Nathan C., son of Robin and her husband John M. Parrish, and
Aaron Robert, son of Jeffrey and his wife, Donna E. (Skaggs) Kline.
I am a past president of Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce and was
elected on the City Council several terms. I finished Harry Hill's term
as Mayor and was also elected for two terms.
I am a member of the Masons, Shrine and Consistory. At present we are
     retired and live in Kiowa.
