Ben Hartzell, brother of Homer, with his wife, Susan, moved to Medicine Lodge in
  May, 1932. He worked for National Gypsum Company for many years. Susan kept the
  Medicine Lodge Ladies' Lounge many years. She made it a pleasant place for young
  mothers to care for the small children. Many stopped by to chat with friends while
  resting a bit in the middle of the shopping day.
     Ben and Susan had no children, but reared two nephews, George and Andy Rathers.
  The boys did various jobs around town as they grew to manhood.
     Ben died June 5, 1957, and Susan Hartzell died January 25, 1978. Andy continued
  to live in the home on North Iliff Street. George lives in Colorado.
     The Ben Hartzells were faithfull attendants of the Assembly of God Church as long
  as their health permitted.
