Clifford Kimball

Clifford Dale Kimball, son of Harry and Jessie Kimball, of rural Medicine
Lodge, Kansas, and Thelma Berenice Keck, of Colby, Kansas, were married May
17, 1936. The wedding took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Oscar E. Keck, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
After an extended honeymoon in Colorado, the young couple returned to the
Forest City Community, where they made their home on the Cyrus Palmer Ranch.
This was their home for seventeen years.
It was during those years that three sons, Larry Dale, Clifford Lynn, and
John Douglas were born to this happy family. Clifford was a great father to
take his sons with him wherever he went. They, of course, loved this and grew
up to be very attached to their father, in fact, they were like three little
  shadows.
The boys attended Forest City School during their Primary School years. By
the time Larry was ready for the seventh grade, the school was closed. It was
then that they went to Mingona School until Larry graduated from the eighth
grade. Edith Haynes was their teacher. When Larry was ready for high school,
  the family moved to town.
Berenice had taught school in Thomas County before she married Clifford, so
she decided to go back into the teaching profession. After going back to
college a year, she started teaching in the Medicine Lodge Primary School. She
taught the Third Grade for twenty-one consecutive years.
During this time, the three sons grew up, married, and have families of
their own. Larry Dale, the oldest son, married Jean Howell of Harper, Kansas.
He attended Emporia State Teachers College and Wichita Vocational Tech School.
They have two sons, Jimmie and Steven, and one daughter, Belinda.
Lynn joined the Navy after graduation fronm High School. He spent four years
stationed in San Diego, California, and the Far EAst. It was while he was
stationed in San Diego, California that he met and married Marlene Rink. She
was employed at the Bank of America. After his four years were up, he was ready
to get out of the Navy and come back to Barber County. They have three daughters,
Cindy, Cathy Richard, Connie Mott, and one son, Ronnie Kimball. Ronnie is in
  the United States Air Force.
John married Rita Bell, daughter of Fern and Glenn Bell of rural Medicine
Lodge. Joh and Rita have two sons - Douglas Lynn and Justin Chad, and a
daughter, Anita Renee. One precious little son, Michael Duane, died from
Leukemia in 1973. He was just four years old. Both John and Rita attended
  Emporia State Teachers College.
We have always been a closely knit family. A family that enjoys each others
company and likes to be together. Needless to say our children and families
have always been and are a joy to their parents.
