Irene Shriver Landsberg
Irene Esther Shriver, was born May 5, 1919, at Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
She was married in 1940, at Lake City, Kansas, to Lewis E. Landsberg, of
Bonner Springs, Kansas.
Irene is the daughter of Herschel Arza Shriver and Cuba Edna Shriver.
Irene attended Forest City SChool District 21, Medicine Lodge High School
and Kansas State University, completing her work at Michigan State and
the University of Southern Alabama. Irene was actibe in high school in
music, debate and dramatics. Irene and her brother, Glenn were in the
same classes from grade school through high school and two years of
college. Irene served on the Student Council, was Secretary of the Senior
Class of 1938, and a recipient of the first DAR award to Home Economics
students locally.
Lewis Emsley Landsberg graduated from Kansas State University in 1941
and worked with the Farm Security Administration in Southeast Kansas until,
at the age of 38, he was ordained as a minister of the Reorganized Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as Administrator and Evangelist,
serving in most of the states of the nation.
The couple have three sons.
