Jerry LeClair

The LeClairs are relative newcomers to Barber County, moving here in April of
  1970.
Jerry was born in Abilene, Kansas, but was raised in the Hutchinson-Great Bend
area. He attended Hutchinson Junior College and worked at the Hutchinson Fire
Department. He then moved to Montezuma, Kansas, where he was manager of the
Montezuma Community, Federal Credit Union. He moved to Sharon, Kansas to work in
  the Sharon Valley State Bank.
Shirley Woodard was born at Alva, Oklahoma and was reared 13 miels northwest
of Freedom, Oklahoma, near Lookout. She attended Northwestern State College at
Alva, graduating in 1961. She then moved to Cimarron, Kansas, to begin teaching.
There Shirley and Jerry met. They were married August 10, 1963 in Alva, Oklahoma.
She continued teaching until the birth of Maria Dawn, December 1, 1967. Michelle
Lynnette was born February 25, 1970. both girls were born at Dodge City, Kansas.
When Michelle was six weeks old, they mobed to Sharon, living first at the
Garner Place (known as the Elgin farm), northeast of Hazelton. In October 1971,
they bought what is known as the Old Schnelle Place, one mile south and one mile
  west of Sharon.
October 27, 1974, Lisa Renee was born at Kiowa, and August 1, 1978, Jason Lee
was born at Medicine Lodge. So - at least two of the LeClairs can claim to be
original Barber Countians, while the rest of us claim it by choice.
Shirley still likes to keep in touch with the education field by doing
substituting, if time permits. In what little spare time is available, she likes
  to read and write poetry.
After work - hunting fishing, and working with cattle vie for Jerry's spare
  time.
The girls are avid readers and have an interest in riding horses. We find, at
this time, Jason, being only eight months old, is mostly interested in eating,
  sleeping and being spoiled.
The family, on any permitting weekend, like to head south to Canton Lake for
boating, fishing, swimming and just lazing around.
