Worley McGee
Worley and Mary (Mae) Dickey McGee were married June 4, 1913. Mae's parents
were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Dickey. Worley's parents were Mr. and Mrs. John C. McGee.
Worley and his father owned and farmed land south of Kiowa. Worley owned a ranch
north of Hazelton. In 1922 Worley and his brother, Fred McGee, bought a grocery
store in Kiowa. They continued this business until 1932. At that time Worley sold
his half of the business to Sam Frazer. Worley then owned and operated the McGee
Oil Co. until 1942.
The children of Worley and Mae are John McGee, Gail Riedel, and Nelda Emmele.
Worley died in 1975. One son, Worldon, died in 1916.
Mae still makes her home in Kiowa.
