Evelyn Simpson Pierce

The second child of Robert and Marjorie (Rozzelle) Simpson, I was born
3-18-1933 at Gerlane, Kansas. I was born at the home of my grandparents,
Raymond and Kate (Springer) Rozzelle. I have one older sister, Phyllis
Shelite; two younger brothers, Richard and Phillip; and a younger sister,
Mary Rucker. I attended Pleasant Hill School, south of Medicine Lodge.
Miss Ruth Gress (now Mrs. C.B. Pike) was my teacher. We moved to town
where I attended fourth and fifth grades. My best girl friend was Betty
Jo (Smith) Griem. Then we moved west of Medicine Lodge, and I went to
school at #10 school. My girl friends were Suzzie Elliott and Ruth Ann
Gress. My theacher was Mrs. Harsha.
While growing up on the farm, I remember coyote hunting and fishing
with my father. I also have fond memories of helping my father and A.T.
Elliott round up cattle. Working on the farm was part of my girlhood.
I was active in 4-H Club and enjoyed club and county events.
I started my high school years at Medicine Lodge High. During my junior
year, I married Albert Claude Pierce. We were married on March 3, 1951. I
finished my school at Kinsley and graduated there. We have two sons, Albert
      Jr. and Robert.
During our marriage, we lived in several towns in Kansas and Oklahoma.
While we lived at Harper, Kansas, I was active in Boy Scouts. During the
time we lived at Arkansas City, I worked as a distributor for an Oklahoma
paper. Both our sons were married during the time we lived at Greensburg,
Kansas. I am now divorced and live at Liberal, Kansas.
