James Stoneking

My parents are David and Wilma Combrink, Route 1, Kiowa, Kansas. I was
born October 25, 1942 at the Anthony Hospital; my parents lived at Hazelton.
I lived most of my childhood in the Hazelton Community, attending Hazelton
Grade School for grades one through four. My teachers were Ona Blankinship
and Mary Tucker. I transferred to Kiowa grade in the fifth grade and attended
there until graduation from Kiowa High School in 1960.
Following graduation from high school, Kansas State University was attended
in Manhattan, Kansas. In July 1962, I married James Stoneking of Kiowa, Kansas,
at the Kiowa United Methodist Church. We returned to Manhattan to continue our
education at K-State. James also attended the Kiowa schools.
In August of 1964 a move was made to Lawrence, Kansas, for James to complete
his pharmacy education at the University of Kansas. While in Lawrence both of
us worked and went to school and in August of 1967, James graduated with a
B.S. Degree in Pharmacy and took a job at Bethany Medical Center in Kansas
     City, Kansas, as a pharmicist.
Upon James' completion of college, I returned to take more hours of classes
at Kansas University working on a degree in Occupational Therapy. On March
5, 1968, Shelley Yvonne was born at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. In June 1969
another move was made to Kansas City, Kansas, for me to continue my education
at Kansas University Medical Center and hospitals in the Kansas City area.
In the fall of 1969 James took a new job as pharmicist at Lakeside Hospital
in Kansas Ciyt, Missouri. I graduated in January 1971 with a B.S. Degree in
Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas. After graduation I worked
as an Occupational Therapist at Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
In February of 1971, James and I bought a home and moved to Overland Park,
Kansas, where we now reside. In the fall of 1971 James was asked to become
director of Pharmacy Services at Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine
in Kansas City, Missouri, which he accepted. On October 13, 1971, a second
daughter, Donna Michelle, was born at Bethany Medical Center, Kansas City,
     Kansas.
In September of 1973 Shelley started Kindergarten at Nall Hills School in
Overland Park, Kansas, where she is in the fifth grade. In the spring of 1975
I returned to work as an Occupational Therapist at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas
City, Missouri, where I still work.
In August of 1975 James returned to college at the Kansas City College of
Osteopathic Medicine to become an Osteopathic physician and at this time is
in his senior year and will graduate in May 1979. His internship is planned
for Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, starting in July 1979.
Donna started kindergarten at Nall Hills School in Overland Park in September
1977 and is now in the first grade.
