Robert Chapman Warren
Robert Chapman Warren was born in Stanleyville, Ohio, in 1953. He was married to
Hattie M. Savidge July 4, 1976. Two children were born, one dying in infancy; the
other, Myrtle Minnie, was born in 1879. Hattie passed away in 1979, and Mr. Warren
and his mother-in-law raised Myrtle Minnie. Mr Warren located near Medicine Lodge
early in the year of 1880, proving up on land north of the city. He became one of
the early pioneers, living here until his death January 22, 1920, at the home of
his son-in-law and Myrtle Minnie Axtell in the Amber community.
Harriet M. Savidge was born April 8, 1830, in New Jersey. Her only daughter,
Hattie, married Robert Chapman Warren. Hattie passed away after giving birth to
her daughter Myrtle Minnie Warren. Harriet came to Medicine Lodge to live with Mr.
Warren and to help raise her granddaughter. She lived to be 77 years old.
William Bryan Warren was born in 1859 at Marietta, Ohio. In 1921 he came to
Medicine Lodge, making his home with his niece, Mrs. Dan Axtell and Mr. Axtell. He
took an active part in Sunday School and taught a Bible class at Amber. He passed
away in 1926.
