Albert Lloyd Wheelock
Albert Lloyd Wheelock, the oldest son of Albert B. and Eva Wheelock
was born at Alva, Oklahoma, September 7, 1934. He attended a country
school in Woods County, Oklahoma until the age of 11, and then he
moved to Medicine Lodge with his family where they had bought a farm
two miles west of town. Here, he attended the Medicine Lodge Schools,
graduating with the class of 1951. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma
State University at Stillwater for one year.
During the 1950's and 1960's, Albert Lloyed was active showing cutting
horses. In 1959, he won the title of Kansas Novice Reserve; in 1960, the
Kansas Futurity Championship; and in 1965 the Kansas Futurity Reserve.
Albert Lloyd has spent most of his life farming and ranching in Medicine
Lodge, and lives on the Wheelock Ranch.
