Lloyd Widney
Lloyd Widney was born in Dewey County, Oklahoma in July, 1905. He
married Helen Rogers in 1931. She was born in Mary, 1914. They have
five children, Lester, born January 14, 1933, Roger, June 2, 1936,
Lois, July 13, 1938, Evelyn, November 16, 1940 and Emma Ruth, February
20, 1949.
Lloyd and Helen farmed 13 years in Oklahoma. Then they ran shoe shops
in Santon, Custer Ciyt, and Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Lloyd became ill with
rheumatism and the doctors orders were to get a different job, where he
wouldn't have to stand in one place. In 1951, the family moved to Medicine
Lodge where Lloyd and Lester were employed at the National Gypsum Company.
Lester graduted from high school in Locust Grove before the family moved.
The other children graduated from MLHS.
Lester and his wife, Barbara, now live in Catoosa, Oklahoma. He has
worked for American Airlines over 25 years as mechanic and is now an
inspector. They have 3 children, Daryl, Larry and Karen. They are all
married. Lester and Barbara have 2 grandchildren.
Roger and his wife, Shirley, live in Jacksonville, Florida, where he is
a clerk at Atlantic Coastline Railroads. They have two daughters, Cindy
and Ginger.
Lois married Jim Miller of Medicine Lodge. They live in ElDorado, where
Jim is employed by Getty Oil Co. They have two daughters, Carol and Debbie.
Carol is married and Debbie is engaged.
Evelyn married Dallas Hull. They have 4 children, Dallas Jr., Terry, Becky,
and Dvid. They live 14 miels west and 6 miles south of Medicine Lodge. Dallas
farms and they follow the wheat harvest from southern Oklahoma to northern
North Dakota, each summer.
Emma Ruth married Joe Rutherford. They live in Poplar Bluff, Missouri
where Joe is pastor of the Assembly of God Church. They have adopted two
children, David and Tresa.
Lloyd and Helen moved to Catoosa, Oklahoma in 1974. They moved back to
Kansas in the fall of 1978. They now reside in El Dorado.
