Dan Winnop Family
Dan Winnop was twenty-five years old, when he moved to Sun City with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Winnop and hs sisters, Pearl (Shepherd), Ruth
(Gaddis), Mary (hart, and Hattie (Clawson), from Cole Springs, Missouri.
Dan's brother, Hiram, lived in Medicine Lodge at that time.
The Winnop famly settled on a farm west of Sun City, between the Medicine
river and Turkey Creek and lived there for several years, before moving into
Sun City.
Dan worked as a farm hand until he married Belle Freeman in 1917. (see
Belle Freeman Winnop).
Will Winnop was a deacon of the Sun City Baptist Church. He was also a
carpenter. He died May 19, 1930. His wife, Mary Ann, died at Hattie Clawson's
home Dec. 30, 1935.
