Kenneth Armstrong was born April 10, 1933 to Earl and Marie (Fetters)
     Armstrong on a farm 4 1/2 miles east of Isabel, Kansas. This is the same
     farm where his father, Earl, was born in 1905 and is still living today.
     Kenneth is the fourth of six children. His brothers, Donald (deceased), and
     Jim; sisters, Darlene, Eunice and Patricia. Kenneth attended all twelve
     years of school in Isabel, graduating in 1951. He was active in basketball
     and baseball.
          He worked at the Isabel Hardware under Irl Hamm as manager when he was
     called into the Korean War serving as a Military Police, being stationed in
     Japan from 1953-55.
          He married Rosalee Hamm, daughter of Donald and Mabel (Neidhardt) Hamm
     of rural Isabel, Kansas on September 13, 1953 at the Church of Christ in
     Isabel. While Kenneth served his eighteen months in the Army, I lived with
     my grandparents and worked at Duckwalls and ASC Office in Pratt, Kansas. I
     attended Ashton Grade School for eight years and Isabel High School for four
     years, graduating in 1952. I am the second of nine children being born and
     raised on the same farm where my parents are still living.
          We lived in Kansas City, Missouri for a short time while Kenneth
     attended a Mechanic Trade School. We lived in Sawyer, Kansas from November
     1955 to November 1961 wehre Kenneth was the Grade School Custodian. While
     living in Sawyer, two children were born in the Nashville, Kansas Hospital,
     Deborah Dian, February 1, 1956 and Eric Daniel April 24, 1957.
          We moved to Medicine Lodge, Kansas, November 27, 1961 where Kenneth
     started working for the Western Power Company which has changed their name 
     to Centel Electric Kansas where he started as a lineman and is now Line
     Foreman. He received his 25 year pin December 1986. On October 8, 1962 a
     son, Darrin Scott was born in Medicine Lodge Hospital.
          I am the Librarian for the City Library in Medicine Lodge. I enjoy
     baking, sewing and reading.
          Deborah is now Mrs. Doug Bryant and mother of Kelcie Leann, they live
     in Edmond, Oklahoma. Eric and wife, Kathy (Drinnon) have three boys, Seth,
     Cody and Colter. They live in rural Isabel and Darrin lives in Edmond, 
     Oklahmoa.
          We are members of the Medicine Lodge Church of Christ where we have
     been active and have taught Bible Class for many years.
          Our lives have been enriched by our heritage and family and friends.
