Robert J. Armstrong was born near Isabel, May 16, 1935, the fifth of
     six children born to Earl and Marie Armstrong. He enjoyed playing basketball
     during the twelve years that he attended Isabel Schools.
          Carolyn Fern House was born near Isabel, March 6, 1935, the oldest of
     two children born to Leo and Fern House. She attended Ashton, a country
     school northwest of Isabel, for eight years and then attended high school at
     Isabel, where she met Jim. Both were graduates of the 1953 Isabel High School
     graduating class.
          Jim started working for the Sate of Kansas, at Sawyer, in September,
     1955 and Carolyn for Pratt County Abstract Company, Inc., in Pratt, in
     August of 1954. They were married at Pratt's First Christian Church, November
     5, 1955, and started their married live residing in Sawyer. Born on May 8,
     1958, was son, Bret Neal, and Carolyn stopped working to care for the new
     baby.
          In August of 1959, the family moved to the former Thornton Farm, located
     two miles northeast of Isabel, where they started farming. Jim continued to
     work for the State and Carolyn was now working part time for the Pratt
     County Clerk, then the Register of Deeds, serving as Deputy Register for a
     short time before daughter, Staci Kay, was born on August 28, 1963. Another
     moved was made in 1964 to a home east of Sawyer, where the Armstrongs lived
     until 1968, when they moved to Isabel, where Jim and Carolyn continue to live.
          Jim and Carolyn have continued to farm and raise cattle and he remains
     employed by the State. Jim and Bret do custom wheat harvesting in Oklahoma,
     return to Kansas to cut their own wheat, and then do custom milo harvesting
     locally, in the fall. They now work together in farming and ranching. Jim
     especially enjoys his cattle and hunting.
          After 1967, Carolyn started working part time for Pratt County Probate
     Court, then for Megaffin and Brown, Attorneys, and then returning to work in
     1972, at Pratt County Abstract Company, Inc., where she worked until March
     of 1986. She is now employed part time for Strong's, Inc., at Nashville. She
     is presently, and has been, since January of 1971, City Clerk for the City
     of Isabel.
