Nettie Mildred Thompson was born in OVerbrook, Kansas in 1900 and
     Delano Ray Bell was born in Eskridge, Kansas in 1894. He died in Charlston,
     Illinois in 1984. They were born only thirty five miles apart, and both
     families settled in Isabel in 1908, but they didn't meed until the early
     twenties. They were married in Jetmore, Kansas and had three children:
     Ann (Mrs Bill Cloud), Don, married to Lorraine Gobin, and Jane Ford.
          Nettie's parents were Mary Louise Simmons and Harmon Vedder Thompson.
     Delano R.'s were Annie Winifred Robinson and Samuel Otis Bell.
          Ann and Bill have three children, Stephen, Delano and Louise, (Mrs.
     Mark Neal). Bill is a Professor of Physics and is Director of Pre-Engineering
     at Eastern Illinois University.
          Don and Lorraine have two children and two grandchildren. Reid and Debra 
     have a son Dustin. Their daughter Sandra has a son, Brandon. Don has been
     with Rhoes Chemical in Kansas City for fourteen years. He is now Operations 
     Manager.
          Jane has four daughters and four grandchildren. Kristin and Chuck Vogt
     have two sons, Kameron and Quintin. Kathy and Woody Nelson have a daughter,
     Randi and a son, Brett. Kelly and Don Baker live in Long Beach and Kara works
     in Topeka. Jane works with the Kansas Hospital Association as Director of 
     Alternative Services.
          Next to her family, Nettie enjoyed her piano students, her garden, her
     church music and the Eastern Star organizaton. For six years she taught near 
     Hugoton and in Liberal.
          Ray was a memeber of the School Board for many years, a thirty second
     degree Mason, a Legionnaire, and he had many fond memories of the boys he
     coached on the Legion baseball team. The patrons on the Rural Mail Route
     were dear friends and serving them was a special thing to him.
          Their retirement in Harlingen, Texas was everything they had looked 
     forward to. Their friends there were loved as their friends in Isabel were.
