Calvin Eugene Boyd was born August 13, 1953 in Nashville, Kansas, to
     Ivan and Edna Boyd. Calvin went to school in Isabel for eleven years when
     it closed. He then graduated from Medicine Lodge in 1971, and Pratt Community
     College in 1973. Calvin since has been farming and ranching in the Sawyer
     and Isabel communities.
          Calvin married Carla Jean Schepmann July 21, 1978, at Natrona near
     Preston, Kansas. Carla was born February 3, 1957 to Nathan and JoAnn Schipmann. 
     She was raised on a farm in the Preston area. Carla graduated from Pratt
     High School in 1975, Pratt Community College in 1977, and St. Mary of the 
     Plains College in Wichita in 1979 with a degree in nursing. She has since
     worked in the hospital at Medicine Lodge. Calvin and Carla reside on the
     farm near Isabel.
          Calvin and Carla have one son, Christopher Eugene, born April 10, 1986. 
     They are members of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Medicine Lodge.
