Rosalie Hartman Brown
Rosalie Hartman, daughter of Carl C. and Muriel Hartman, grew up on a
farm north of Isabel. She attended school her first two years at Ashton.
She attended the remaining years of grade school and high school in Isabel
graduating from high school in 1955.
She then went to Pratt Junior College in Pratt, Kansas for three semesters
and transferred to Emporia State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas, where
she finished her education.
While attending college in Emporia, she met John L. Brown, who was raised
in Great Bend, Kansas, and they married.
Rosalie has worked for an Insuarance Agency for the past fourteen years.
Her husband, John, owned and operated John's Salon of Beauty in Emporia for
twenty eight years. He is now semi-retired.
They own several rental properties and have built a home at Lake Kahola,
which is Emporia's city lake, and spend much of their time there.
They have five children. Scott and his wife Patti, (have two chldren
Marcelo and Lisa), Michael, Mrs. Leroy (Robyn) Winter, Bonnie (who has a
daughter Kelly), and Shaun. They all reside in Emporia, Kansas at this time.
