Duane and Marian Bush moved to the Isabel community July 1953 
     onto what was called the McManaman farm. They came from Alva, Oklahoma where
     Duane was born and raised. Marian was born and raised at Claflin, Kansas.
     They were married at Claflin November 9, 1947.
          They had four children: Robert, Kay, Virginia and Teresa. All of the
     children attended and graduated form the Isabel school. Teresa, the youngest
     was in the last senior class to graduate before the High School closed in
     1970.
          All the children are married and live in Kansas. Robert and Teresa live
     in the Pratt area. Kay lives at Garden City, Kansas and Virginia lives at
     Ellis, Kansas.
          Duane and Marian are active members of the Isabel United Methodist
     Church. Marian was president of the United Methodist Women for 10 years and
     is presently secretary, also is secretary of the Administrative Board. She is
     a member of the Stitch and Chatter Club and is secretary.
          Duane is president of the United Methodist Men, is church Lay Leader and
     is serving a second 6 year term as director for the Cairo Co-op. He has
     served on the township board. He served 3 1/2 years with the United States
     Air Force during World War II and was a member of a heavy bomber crew with
     the 15th Air Force. He flew 50 missions over Europe and was awarded 7 air
     medals and participated in 5 major air battles and has 2 presidential citations.
          Duane and Marian followed the custom harves for 22 years from Oklahoma
     to Wyoming. Robert was a part of this for a number of years. Duane and Marian
     are still actively farming and enjoying the company of their children, seven
     grandsons and one granddaughter.
          They enjoy friends and neighbors and are happy to be a part of the
     Isabel community.
