Kenneth Corbin
Alta Keller, daughter of Bill and Verna Keller, Isabel, married Kenneth
Corbin, son of Levi and Myrtle Corbin, Isabel, in Medicine Lodge in 1941.
Two children were born to this union, Jerry Galen, in 1942, and Anita Kay,
in 1950. Jerry married Iola Shaw from Sawyer. They have two girls: Connie
Jo and Carla Kaye. Anita married Richard Poland from Isabel. They have three
children: Brandon Scott, Heather Lyn, and Erin Lyn.
Kenneth graduated from Isabel High School in 1937. He was a veteran of
World War II (1942). He received basic training at Camp Carson at Colorado
Springs, Colorado. He took part in the Normandy Invasion. During the 21
months he was overseas, he earned 5 bronze stars and the Purple Heart.
Kenneth worked for the Isabel Co-op for 30 years, serving for 13 years as
Manager. Kenneth served on the School Board and the City Council, and
served as Mayor of Isabel for several years. Kenneth was a memeber of the
American Legion in ISabel. He loved to play baseball, and in later years,
coached many baseball teams in Isabel.
Alta graduated from Isabel High School in 1939. She has been very
active in church and community activities through the years. She is a member
of the Isabel American Legion Auxiliary. After Kenneth's death in 1977, she
started working as a nurse's aide at the Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital,
and continues to be employed there today. Alta continues to reside in Isabel.
