Pearl Mease, daughter of Henry Arthur and Laura (Wehling) Mease was
     born in Nashville, Kansas, August 8, 1919. She attended Mumford and Cream
     Valley Country schools and Isabel High School.
          Vernon Coss was born in Isabel, Kansas, July 5, 1918 the son of Clifford
     F. and Eunice A. (Corbin) Coss. He spent his early years on the farm south
     of Isabel, attended school at Isabel graduating from Isabel High School. He
     attended Friends University and KU Law School. He served in the Air Force
     in World War II, was injured and received the Purple Heart.
          Pearl Mease and Vernon Coss were married September 19, 1942 at Wichita,
     Kansas.
          After Vernon's graduation from Kansas University they made their home
     in Medicine Lodge where their three daughters attended school, all graduating 
     from Medicine Lodge High School. Vernon later moved to Wichita and now lives
     in California. Kay married Bob Korff of Kiowa, Kansas. They have one son
     Charles Fredrick. Kay and Bob farm the Korff land south of Kiowa.
          Ann married Jerry Hanson of Medicine Lodge. They have two daughters,
     Ami Renee and Andria Ann, and a son Christian Lynn. Ann and Jerry operate
     a Standard Service Station in Iowa City, Iowa.
          Jan married Leon Wheat of Medicine Lodge. They have a son Patrick Allen
     and a daughter Jamie LeAnne. Jan graduated with top honors in her class from
     Boulder College, went to work as accountant for Price Waterhouse in Denver,
     and now works for an oil company in Denver where she and the children live.
          Pearl was receptionist for Dr. Ball and Stucky, later for the clinic
     at the hospital. Recently employed for Butcher Block Press who published
     "A Cooking Affaire" cookbook by Jan Bertoglio and LoLe Hudson. Pearl now
     lives at Indian Hills Plaza in Medicine Lodge. The children and grandchildren
     are the joy in her life.
