Belva June (Yarberry) Dauner
Belva, the daughter of Lester and Velma Yarberry, attended grade
school and high school at Isabel graduating in 1959. She attended Wichita
Business College graduating in May, 1960, with an Executive Secretarial
Degree.
In August of 1960, she married C. Duane Dauner, who also grew up on
a farm near Isabel graduating from Isabel High School in 1958. For the next
four years she was Executive Secretary to the Sutton Oil Company in Wichita.
Duane finished his college degree at Wichita State University and received
a Masters Degree in Mathmatics. At this time they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska,
where Duane began working on a PhD Degree in Mathmatics. Belva was secretary
to the City Traffic Engineer for the city of Lincoln for one year.
In September, 1965, they moved to Topeka, Kansas, where Duane became
an assistant professor at Washburn University in the Math Department. After
one year he left the teaching field and became a Vice-President for the
Kansas Hospital Association.
Their daughter, Michelle LeAnn was born in July of 1965 and three
years later in July 1968, Clark Duane II was born. Belva was a full time
mother and wife during the 10 years they lived in Topeka.
The next move ws to Jefferson City, Missouri, where Duane became the
President of the Missouri Hospital Association. After staying home for a
number of years, Belva worked for IBM and then became a legislative
secretary for two different Missouri State Legislators. In November, 1985,
Duane and Belva moved to Sacramento, California, where Duane serves as the
President of the California Association of Hospitals and Health Systems.
Their children are both attending Abilene Christian University in
Abilene, Texas. Michelle is a Senior majoring in Computer Science and
Clark is a Freshman. His major is undecided at this time.
