Edna Mae (Wehling) DeWeese
Edna Mae Wehling, born December 3, 1920 at home in rural Nashville, is
the daughter of Henry C. and Lilian M. Wehling. She was the second of three
children, Geraldine and Delbert, are her sister and brother.
She attended Cream Valley Country School for eight years and graduated
from Isabel High School in 1939. She married Orland DeWeese on April 20, 1942.
He is the son of Oliver M. and Maude E. DeWeese of Nashville. Orland was
in the Army at the time and they lived in California, Texas, and Wichita
for a short time. They settled in Medicine Lodge in 1944, where they presently
live.
To this marriage, there were three children born Larry, Ron and Carol.
Larry married Sondra Ghere of Medicine Lodge and they have two children,
Tommye and Thad. Ron married Janet Boaldin ofElkhart and they have two
children, Elaine and Lee. Carol married John Hough of Leavenworth and they
have three children, Maggie and twins Corey and Kyle.
After 36 years of business in Medicine Lodge, they retired in 1981 and
make their home in Medicine Lodge.
