Guy Ford
Guy Ford was born March 16, 1907 on a farm near Isabel. The son of
John and Alice Ford. Buy was an area farmer from 1928 to 1972. He came
from a family of six children - four brothers and one sister, all of
whom lived in the Isabel area. His brother Roy still lives on a farm
near Isabel.
Guy married Lena Lee on July 28, 1928 in Kingman. She was born
July 13, 1909 in Foyil, Oklahoma, moving to Isabel in 1922 at which
time she lived with her grandparents, Meggie and John Holland. Lena
has one brother Richard Lee who lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma and one
sister Ina who lives in Pratt. All three graduated from Isabel High
School and Lena was their "star" basketball player.
Guy and Lena owned a farm five miles north and two miles east of
Isabel. They raised cattle, pigs and chickens and grew wheat. Guy and
Lena had three children, a baby boy died at borth and their other two
sons, Floyd and John, were both active in local sports - and married
the "Swinson" girls. Floyd and Marlene live in Pratt and have one
daughter and two sons and three grandchildren. John and Maribel live
in Maize, have one daughter and one son and one granddaughter.
Guy retired in 1971 and they moved to Pratt. Guy passed away
August 18, 1984 and Lena still lives at their home in Pratt.
