Born near Kenesawy, Nebraska on May 29, 1929, at home, one of four
children of Carl and Dorothy (Sleeper) Thom. The family moved from Nebraska
to Isabel, Kansas in 9132. I grew up and went to elementary school west of
Isabel. Graduated from high school at Isabel and went to work at Medicine
Lodge in the County Tresurer's office. Donald Holthus and I were married
in 1948 and we moved to Smith Center, Kansas and lived there five years. We
then moved to Plainville, Kansas in 1953 and then to Oklahoma in 1958. We
have four children, Max, Richard, Myrna and Jimmie. Max was born in Smith
Center, Kansas in 1951; Richard was born in Smith Center in 1953; Myrna was
born in Plainville, Kansas in 1957; and Jimmie was born in Okarche, Oklahoma
in 1960. Don and I now live in Omega, Oklahoma. Max, Richard and Myrna and
their families live in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Jimmie is in the Marine Corps.
We have eight grandchildren. Don works on the farm and I work for Pioneer
     Telephone Cooperative in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
