John Jackson
John Jackson lived eight miles southwest of Isabel. His brother Henry
"Hank" graduated in 1925 (and passed away in 1983 in New York) from Isabel
High School. His sister Essie graduated in 1929 and lives in Florida. In
1921 JOhn and Jessie Hollister were married. They lived at the foot of the
hill from Amber school house. John was a farmer and did custom hay baling.
He helped build "99 Springs." The neighbors were Clyde Ratlief, Duck Lunsford,
John Edwards, Dan Axtel, George Haas, Emma Rynerson, Tom Kincaid, Bob Lamkin,
Scott Freeman, and Mary Warren.
John passed away in 1941. Jessie and the six children moved to Elsmore,
Kansas in 1948. She now lives in LaHarpe, Kansas.
Dean was in the Navy. He married Betty Allen in 1949. They had twins
Richard and Gloria. He was associated with several grocery stores and was
an excellent meat cutter. He also owned his own grocery store in LaHarpe,
Kansas. dean passed away in 1980.
Ruth graduated from Isabel High School in 1947. She married Elmer McEndree
in 1947 at Isabel. They farm and raise Angus cattle. They had three children,
Nancy, Chester, Charlie. They live on a farm at LaHarpe, Kansas.
John was in the Army. He graduated from Isabel High School in 1947. He
married Jean Smith in 1951. He sells real estate, and lives in Ft. Scott,
Kansas. They had three children, Danny, Rick and Diana.
Shirley graduated form Elsmore High School. She married Joe Ludlum in
1950. They farm and raise cattle. They live on a farm west of Elsmore. They
had one child, Cynthia.
Stella graduated from Elsmore High School. She married D.A. Ludlum in
1950. I am a secretary for Lamamco Drilling. D.A. sells oilfield supplies.
They live in Dewey, Oklahoma. They had one child, Bonnie.
Lila graduated from Elsmore High School. She married Dean Ludlum. They
have farmed, raised cattle and Dean pumps an oil lease. They live in Elsmore,
Kansas. They had two children, Debra, and Don. Dean and D.A. are brothers and
Joe is cousin of theirs.
