Esther Anna Gesche (Winter) Crocker

I was born June 27, 1908, in Alma, Missouri, and baptized there. I was
one of nice children - four daughters and five sons - of William Winter
and Elizabeth Anna (Bartgrede) Winter. My folks migrated to Kansas because
of my moher's health as a young person. I was confirmed at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Nashville, Kansas, on April 30, 1922, by F.J. Duecker,
  the pastor at that time.
I was married to Jess Crocker on December 24, 1942, in the parsonage of
the St. John's Lutheran Church at Nashville, Kansas, by Pastor Mueller.
Jess Crocker was born December 24, 1898, at Maize, Kansas, and had a son,
Robert Harold Crocker, born February 3, 1924, a Hazelton, Kansas. Jess and
his son Robert were confirmed August 6, 1984, at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Medicine Lodge, Kansas, by the Rev. Velmer H. Goebel.
We lived for four years in Attica, Kansas, then moved to Zenda, Kansas,
where we farmed for four years, then to the Plum Thicket Farm in Sharon,
Kansas, where we managed a wildlife retreat for Floyd Amsden from Wichita,
Kansas, until moving to Medicine Lodge, Kansas, about 1981.
