Erwin John Herman Hensiek & Hilda Marie Sophie Pagenkopf

Erwin Hensiek was born June 6, 1914, at Nashville, Kansas, to William
and Katherine Mueller Hensiek. He was baptized July 5, 1914, by Pastor
  H. Schlesseman at St. John's Lutheran Church, Nashville, Kansas.
Hilda Hensiek was born September 18, 1918, at Nashville, Kansas, one
of five daughters born to Charles Albert and Ella Pauline (Kahmeyer)
Pagenkopf. She was baptized September 23, 1918, at St. John's Lutheran
Church, Nashville, Kansas, by Pastor H.F. Meyer.
Erwin attended the public school, but most of the years he attended
the Lutheran School in Nashville. He was confirmed
April 1, 1921, by the Rev. P.G. Krause.
Hilda went to a country school the first six grades and two years to
the Lutheran School and was confirmed March 20, 1932, by the Rev. P.G.
  Krause.
We were married November 14, 1937, by the Rev. P.G. Krause at St. John's
Lutheran Church, Nashville, Kansas; we celebrated our 50th Golden Wedding
  Anniversary in 1987.
We have lived on the William Hensiek farm, which is three fourths of a
mile west of Nashville, since we were married. In 1959, we bought the
farm. Erwin has lived on this farm since he was born.
Erwin has been active in church in the past. He has served as elder in
the past and was on the school board when we had the Lutheran School. He
has been on the Cemetery Board for years. Besides farming, Erwin did
carpentry, but he has retired from that.
Our first child, Violet Marie, was born September 19, 1940, and married
Dean Harding on May 5, 1963, at the St. John's Lutheran Church; the
ceremony was conducted by Pastor Jack Amen. Erwin Gene was born on May 5,
1947, and died May 29, 1964, age 17 years, 23 days; he was buried on May
31, 1964, in the Lutheran Cemetery at Nashville.
