Theodore Fred Hensiek & Elsie (Lampe) Hensiek
Theodore Fred Hensiek was born August 6, 1897, at Blackburn, Missouri, a
son of Katherine (Mueller) Hensiek and William H. Hensiek. He was baptized
August 15, 1897, in Blackburn, Missouri. He moved to Nashville with his
parents when he was still a child. Ted was confirmed April 9, 1911, by the
Rev. F. Busse in St. John's church in Nashville, Kansas.
Elsie Lampe Hensiek was born June 2, 1901, at Hollenberg, Kansas, a
daughter of Mary Schierkolk Lampe and William Lampe. She was baptized June
23, 1901, in Washington, Kansas. She was confirmed May 14, 1916, by the Rev.
H.F. Meyer and was in the first class confirmed in the new church. She
moved to a farm near Isabel with her parents in 1908.
Theodore F. Hensiek and Elsie Lampe were married January 16, 1921, in the
St. John's Lutheran Church by Pastor Duecker. They lived in Nashville for
two years and Ted worked on the railroad. They moved to a farm near Sawyer,
Kansas, where they lived until 1941 when they moved back to Nashville to a
farm one mile south of Nashville.
Ted retired and moved into Nashville in 1956 and Elsie worked for Dr.
Waylan as a dietician until the hospital closed.
Ted passed away on May 23, 1960, and Elsie passed away on August 3, 1978.
They were members of St. John's Lutheran Church all their lives. Ted
served as elder and was a Sunday School teacher. Elsie belonged to the Ladies
Aid. They had two children, Vernon Hensiek and Geneva Hensiek Westerman, both
of Nashville, and ten grandchildren.
