Richard Lyman Justice & Darline (Hellmann) Justice
I was the third of six children born to Otto John and Emma Caroline
(Flentje) Hellmann. Laverne, the eldest, died when I was three years
old. Lorene Hellman Hudson, my eldest sister, died in 1989.
My brother Harold, two sisters (Norma Lee Johnson and Janet Johnson)
and their families all live in or near Wichita, Kansas. The folks farmed
near Nashville and Isabel until they retired in 1965. "Pop" passed away
in 1972 and Mom is now at the nursing home in Cunningham.
I attended the St. John's Lutheran School for seven years. I was
baptized and confirmed at St. John's. During my teen years, I was active
in Walther League, taught Sunday School and was a choir member.
In 1942 I moved to Wichita where I have worked and lived. Most of my
working years were with the airlines, twelve years with TWA and twenty-
two with Continental Airlines. I retired from Continental in 1986 and
now work part-time with a realty company.
In 1963, Richard Justice and I were married. Richard was a salesman
for Radio Supply Company. He died while traveling, at Liberal, Kansas,
in 1969.
At present I am a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wichita. I
enjoy my nieces and nephews and my home.
