Ernest Kahmeyer Sr. & Anna Marie Mary (Nunnenkamp) Kahmeyer


    Ernest Kaymeyer St. was born November 19, 1863, in Minnesota of German
  parents. He married Anna Marie Mary Nunnenkamp who was born December 8, 
  1878, in Bremen, Germany. She came to America with her parents in the fall
  of 1889 and then went to Deshler, Nebraska, on NOvember 15, 1894.
    In 1899, the E. Kahmeyers and their two small daughteres, Lydia and Ella,
  went by covered wagon to Oklahoma and settled near Pryor in Indian Territory
  about fifty miles northeast of Tulsa. Not staying there long because of
  rampant disease, they returned to Hampton, Nebraska, where Lydia died.
    In 1907, the family moved to Marion, Kansas, and in 1913, they moved to
  Nashville where they lived until 1943 when they moved into Nashville. In
  1944, Anna and Ernest celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary.
    Eight children were born to this union. Lydia was born January 9, 1896,
  in Hampton, Nebraska, and died there on March 15, 1990. Ella Pauline was
  born March 1, 1889, in Hampton, Nebraska, and died October 17, 1975. Ernest
  Fredrick was born September 19, 1901, in Hampton, Nebraska, and died December
  9, 1984. Raymond H. was born August 27, 1903, in Hampton, Nebraska; he now
  lives in Pratt, Kansas. Walter J.H. was born August 30, 1905, in Hampton,
  Nebraska; he died June 27, 1972. Gilbert was born September 27, 1907 in
  Hampton, Nebraska; he now lives in Nashville, Kansas. Marie Louise was born
  May 5, 1910, in Marion, Kansas; she now lives in Nashville, Kansas. Leonard
  F. was born September 14, 1914, in Nashville, Kansas, and died November 23,
  1969.
    Ernest Kahmeyer St. died January 9, 1949, in Nashville and Mary Kahmeyer
  died March 21, 1971. Both are buried in the Lutheran Cemetery. Ernest
  Kahmeyer St. served as an elder of the church for several years.
