William Paul Henry (Bill) Klinkerman & Ruby (Weber) Klinkerman
Ruby (Weber) Klinkerman was born June 7, 1914, at Nashville, Kansas, one
of five children born to Louis and Sophie (Pagenkopf) Weber. She was baptized
and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church and attended school in Nashville.
William Paul Henry (Bill) Klinkerman was born April 11, 1911, in Clara,
Texas, youngest of fourteen children born to William H. and Katherine (Fricke)
Klinkerman. His mother died when he was six months old and his Aunt Lizzie
Windler brought him back to Nashville, Kansas. He was baptized and confirmed
in Nashville and graduated from Nashville High School in 1930.
Bill and Ruby were married December 23, 1933, in Augusta, Kansas. They
lived on the Art Windler farm west of Nashville until 1938 when they purchased
a home in Nashville. Bill worked in the McNabb Drug Store until he became
manager of General Mills Elevator. He became disabled from polio in 1952.
Ruby worked as custodian of the school and had a restaurant in Nashville
for several years. In 1957 they moved to Pratt where Bill worked for Pratt
Well Service until his death in June 1974.
Their children are Bernita Joyce, born March 14, 1936; Lawana Mae, born
July 27, 1939; Sherrill Ann, born August 16, 1944; Carolyn Catherine, born
September 28, 1947, and Steven Dale, born December 21, 1957.
Bernita married Elwood Lawrence September 29, 1957. They have three
children, Carla, Debra and Lisa, and four grandchildren. They live in Pratt,
Kansas.
Lawana married Max Martin June 3, 1961. They have three sons, Gregg and
twins Mike and David, and one granddaughter. They live in Haysville, Kansas.
Sherril married Tom Ebben May 12, 1973. They have three daughters, Kim,
Angie and Teresa, and they reside in Wichita.
Carolyn married Keith Clarke Mary 4, 1968. They have two daughters, Kristin
and Jennifer, and son Matthew; they reside in Wichita.
Ruby moved form Pratt to Peach Tree Retirement Center i Haysville, Kansas,
in 1978 and lived there until 1987. She was in Sandpiper Bay Rest Home in
Wichita until her death December 19, 1989.
