Lloyd William Klusman & Verna Lee (Kahmeyer) Klusman


     Lloyd Klusman was born near Nashville July 23, 1920, and was baptized in
   the home of his parents, Henry G. Klusman and Lena (Funke) Klusman, by
   T.J. Duecker on August 3, 1920. Grades one through eight were spent at the
   McKinley District 96 country school. He graduated from Nashville High School
   and was confirmed as an adult at St. John's on April 10, 1949, by the Rev.
   Herman Seyfert.
     Verna was born April 19, 1928, at Isabel, to Ernest F. Kahmeyer and
   Malinda (Hellman) Kahmeyer. The Rev. P.G. Krause baptized Verna on April
   29, 1928. She attended grades one through four in Isabel, grades five
   through eight at the St. John's Christian day school and finished high 
   school at Nashville. She was confirmed in the church while in the seventh
   grade on April 6, 1941, by the Rev. O. Mueller.
     Lloyd and Verna were married in Wichita December 7, 1946. After living 
   in varioius towns, they settled in Medicine Lodge in 1955. They helped
   organize the Trinity Lutheran congregation and continue to serve the church.
   Lloyd served as elder for more than twenty years. Verna taught Sunday School
   and is currently president of Women of Trinity.
     Their marriage was blessed with five children. Ann Hatfield was born in
   1948 and lives in Wichita. She has two children: Mark, born in 1976, and
   Valerie Peckham, of Manhattan, born in 1969.
     Cathy Klusman was born i 1949 and lives in Wichita.
     Larry Klusman, born in 1954, lives in Medicine Lodge.
     Nola Fowler was born in 1955. She has been married to Jeff Fowler of
   Medicine Lodge since 1974. They have two sons: Kevin, born in 1976, and 
   Kyle, born in 1979.
     Ivan Klusman, born in 1966, married Susan Collins of Sun City in 1990.
   They live in Dodge City.
     Before retiring in 1985, Lloyd was employed for more than thirty years
   at Lyman's, Inc., of Medicine Lodge as a mechanic. He enjoys working on
   projects such as wood crafts for his family.
     While her children were growing up, Verna was kept busy with her house-
   hold chores and maternal obligations. She is now self-employed in house-
   keeping and has met many friends through her work.
