August Kruckenberg was born in Wessenstaedt, Hanover, Germany, May 1, 1873.
  His family (the William Kruckenbergs and their five children) immigrated to
  America when he was a boy. They first settled in Minnesota for a short time
  and they moved to Lincoln, Kansas. He was confirmed April 3, 1887, in the
  Lutheran Church in Lincoln. His wife, Minnie Bockelman, was born October 12,
  1877, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Marie (9/5/1858-9/16/1925)
  and Christoph Bockelman (10/6/1849-7/7/1919). Eventually her family moved to 
  Lincoln, Kansas, where she met and married August on October 20, 1898.
    Their first two children were born in Lincoln. Esther was born December 6,
  1900, and died March 16, 1979. She was married to Herman Kuehn (5/6/1909-
  8/3/1976). They lived on a farm south of Nashville and had no children.
    The next child was Elmer. He was born June 22, 1901, and died February 2,
  1907.
    In 1906, the family moved to a farm five and one-half miles east of Isabel.
  When they first arrived, they built a granary and shared it with another
  family until their house was built. It was at this time that August, Paul
  Kuehn and William Keuhn served on the committee that obtained the bell
  which is still used in the church tower.
    Their other four children were born on this farm. Clara was born November
  9, 1907, and married Fred Wiske in 1945. They lived on a farm near Augusta.
  She died November 28, 1974. They had no children.
    Theodore (Ted) was born October 22, 1910; he was baptized November 6, 1910,
  confirmed April 5, 1925, and died May 25, 1957. He married Mildren Jenkins
  (born November 5, 1917) in 1937, and they had three children. Marcia Jo was
  born December 8, 1938, baptized January 8, 1939, and confirmed April 6, 1952.
  She married Norville Sport and has three children: Rusty, Randy and Ricky.
  They currently live in Wichita. Dwayne Allen was born May 10, 1941, and
  confirmed May 29, 1952. He married Marlene Rief and has three children: Cindy,
  Casey, and Scott. They currently live in Kiowa. Gary Dean was born August 14,
  1943, baptized September 5, 1943, confirmed April 14, 1957, and died November
  22, 1986. He is survived by two children, Karen and Robert, who live in Idaho.
  Mildred then married Hilbert Buckles and now lives in Kiowa.
    Walter George was born March 2, 1914, married Bessie Byrd October 20, 1936,
  and died January 20, 1972. They had two children: Harold Dean and Walter
  Eugene (Gene).
    Their last child was Edna. She was born September 15, 1916, and died twelve
  days later on September 27, 1916.
    August Kruckenberg died January 1, 1925; Minnie Kruckenberg died June 10,
