Ernest Herman Lampe & Hazel Fay (Wilkens) Lampe
Hazel was born July 30, 1910, at Harper/Barber County Line and Ernest was
born March 4, 1903, in Hanover, Kansas. They were married December 25, 1928,
in Nashville, Kansas. The pastor at that time was P.G. Krause.
Ernie owned a barber shop when Mary Lou was born November 7, 1929. We
then moved to Isabel and Ernie was a barber with his brother Hank for two
years. Then we moved back to Nashville to resume ownership of his barbershop.
Joann was born January 5, 1934.
Ernie and Hazel ran a restaurant in Nashville. Ernie was also a janitor
at the high school. Ernie also lived being in the quartet and serving as
the Sunday School superintendent for St. John's Lutheran Church.
On Labor Day of 1950, we moved to Pratt, Kansas. Ernie owned his own
barbershop there and Hazel worked at the hospital for thirty-five years.
Mary Lou has three children and four grandchildren. JoAnn has seven
children and nineteen grandchildren.
Hazel enjoys her family, playing cards and traveling.
