William Carl Lampe & Mary D. (Schierkolk) Lampe
William C. Lampe was born in Mackelburg, Germany, April 20, 1872 and
died July 14, 1943.
Mary D. (Schierkolk) Lampe was born February 7, 1879, in Marshall County,
Kansas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schierkolk. She died December 30,
1968.
William (BIll) and Mary were married February 7, 1899, on Mary's birthday,
in Lanham, Nebraska.
They lived in the Lanham community until 1908 when they moved to Isabel,
Kansas. They joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Isabel and were members there
until the Isabel church merged with St. John's Lutheran Church in Nashville.
Bill and Mary were janitors at St. John's for many years.
There were eleven children: Walter, Elsie (Hensiek), Hilda (Schindler),
Henry, Earnest, Wilbert, Alvin, Clarence, Dorotha (Poppe), and Lavern. One
son died in infancy.
When Mary died in December 1968, she had ninety-one living descendants.
Louise Laverentz (Henry Sr.) was Mary's sister.
Of the eleven children, only three are living.
